Welcome to Hancock Dairy Farm
Hancock Farm is a small family owned dairy. The farm is operated by Rickey, Sandy, and their daughter Beth Evangelista. The farm consists of 70 head of dairy cows most of which are Ayrshire cattle. We milk an average of 25 head year round. The cows are housed in a 200 head free stall barn with access to pasture year round. We never feed our animals unnecessary antibiotics to prevent them from getting sick. If a cow does become ill we do medicate them and if they are part of the milking herd their milk does not enter back into the tank until the medication is fully out of their system, which means our milk is antibiotic free. We do not use artificial growth hormones on any of our cows; therefore, all of our milk is free of artificial hormones as well.
Rickey trucks all of the raw milk to Puleo’s Dairy in Salem MA where it is Vat Pasteurized and then made into Whole, Skim and Chocolate milk, along with Light and Whipping (Heavy) Cream and an assortment of Ice Cream. The products are brought back to the farm and sold on home delivery routes and at Farmer's Markets.
